When we speak about the iPod in the future, we’ll try and remember a time BEFORE its existence. Just like the 45, LP, reel-to-reel, cassette, CD or Mini Disc (remember the two days of the MINI?) we’ll be drawn into nostalgic memories; you know the one’s we all have. It will be one of those things we argue about; we all knew the day was coming. We knew it!

As time passes and memory gets fuzzy, there are certain things that lapse away. The truth is none of us saw carrying around out entire music collections on a piece of electronics the size of a box of Tic Tacs! We never did! As brave as we’d like to be about it, there is one guy who believed in this thing; and like the Messiah leading us all to drink, he placed the iPod there before us and let us have at it.

And The World Was Never The Same
I say this with full knowledge of trends and advancements (and the rule of Bill Gates over, seemingly, all things technological) but Mr. Jobs has done it. It will be 30 years before something as innovative and far reaching as the iPod comes around again. Maybe longer. Maybe never! (no, no; they said the same thing about the Walkman no doubt. A different technology there will be; I just don’t know what it is)

iPod Nano is the little iPod that took over for the iPod mini when it had fallen from favor. With a bigger memory and smaller features, iPod Nano is for the iPod user who doesn’t want to have everything on there but still wants some variety.

iPod accessories are available from just about every electronics retailer in the world. Everyone’s jumped onto the iPod bandwagon and they all want their piece of the kitty. You can get iPod cases, speakers, alternate white ear buds, there’s even an iPod microphone where you can record audio files of live music, interviews, or take notes for yourself.

Now you can download movies and TV shows onto your iPod, many of which come with special iPod only features, outtakes, and other treats so that you can get the most from your viewing pleasure. With new, larger color screens watching movies or shows is also more of an option for the Pod viewer.

There are many different price levels of the iPod so that you can get the unit that’s just right for you; not too big, not too small, and not too expensive. What some may even consider cheap! There are also free downloads for you to check out fun interesting stuff that you might not otherwise.

So as we all marvel and revel towards the Apple Gods, it’s important to gather our thoughts correctly so that in 50 years we can all say (in unison) “Now, when I was your age…”
