The origins of the Television harkens back more than a hundred years to the discovery of photoconductivity in 1873. However TV’s didn’t come into prominence in the public arena until the 1950’s when it hit huge! Believe it or not, the first working TV took place in 1926 in London in a laboratory! Television science? I guess! We’ve come a long way since then; there appears to be very far to go yet!
DirecTV comes into an individual’s home using that gray dish antenna that hangs from people’s fire escapes all over big cities, all over the world. For those wondering just what DirecTV is its individualized home satellite TV service which offers a wide range of channels and high picture quality. With a customer base in the tens of millions and growing, DirecTV does what it does by bringing HD programming into a person’s home, free of worry. TV listings have taken on many different forms through the years. From the local register with the evenings programming on it to a streaming network of constant channel listings, previews, and commentary (coupled with advertising) there are plenty of choices. Long gone is the day of the TV guide as I’m afraid we’ve moved beyond all that and that medium is soon to be gone. LCD TV’s are even making advances in a day thought to be dominated by digital and plasma. LCD was cast to the rear as being only amendable to smaller sized monitors and screens but its come roaring back since 2004 with continued development. Even something as far fetched as Internet TV is now a huge presence in the world. As people remain ever more connected to their computers and ever more connected t o the Internet, it’s fetching to see the technology emerge with some presence. You can even try online TV for free in some locations. The thought behind it, I assume, is that if you show people how easy and essential it is to have it, when it’s taken away, they won’t know what to do and they’ll have to continue the service. Kind of like network TV in the home, eh? Television is one of those medium that will always exist in some form or another. To relay information, entertain us, or any of the other necessary evils of TV (sports, news, weather, Gray’s Anatomy, Soprano’s, Seinfeld reruns, et al) that will placate us forever more, the TV is the instrument; we willingly line up for our daily spoonful daily.
