Desktop themes are packages containing customized images to get the “look” and “feel” of an operating system. While themes are tried to define us our whole lives, the themes of our desktop need not say as much. They do, however, need to put us in the proper mindset to approach our daily tasks so they don’t appear as hum-drum as all that.
Desktop themes, better than define our mood, often celebrate the things we love. Whether that be our new family or the wonderful city we live in; the spring weather or our favorite television shows, the theme of our desktop can remind us of the things that we love. To that end, there are numerous free desktop theme downloads available online. If you’re looking to define your space do a good long search and find the things that mean the most to you before you necessarily commit to anything. While true you can always change it up, you don’t want to spend all this time putting up a theme and creating a world around you that you’ll grow to love out of necessity or that you’ll just rip down after a short stint. It’s the equivalent of selecting your life partner (for your computer) you want to be sure you approach it with an open mind and no reservations. If you’re feeling in the mood for it, there are numerous desktop themes available for your selection. These include animated desktop themes if your attitude is a little more laid back “Don’t have a cow, man!” If your approach is more inclined towards traditional holiday images, you can theme your computer seasonally. Some people would rather it be Christmas all year; popular images are those that invoke good memories, holidays, and family. Christmas themed desktops have always been a popular trademark; images that show reverent or happy images of both family and the religious symbolism are both equally popular. Windows XP offers many excellent desktop theme options which you should of course explore to the fullest. One day, you may even get kids from the marriage of your computer and your computers theme. In all seriousness, there is a certain something to be said for a person by looking at his desktop. You can gauge the tenor and tone of a persons desktop and then try to have an icebreaker discussion. Now wouldn’t that be a way to live; yet, the way we’re all living right now, I’d say that maybe, that’s the way we already are.
