Screen savers original purpose on computers was to conserve the image quality of your display by blanking it out or filling it with moving images or patterns. Remember when images would remain frozen on your computer because you’d left it on too long? Probably not, but go to any old style ATM machine (if you can find one) and you may see what I’m talking about: “burn in’s” is what they’re called and they can be pesky.
Screen savers can be had one of three ways. There are pre programmed images that can populate your screen in your computer. If you’re not fond of those, you can often write or create your own scrolling message or image so that your computer says what you want when you’re gone. If none of these works for you, then you can take the third choice of downloading your favorite screensavers. Then you’ve got the whole World Wide Web at your disposal. There are many popular downloads available online. Some of these include Christmas screen savers, the aquarium screen saver, animated screen savers of your favorite cartoon characters, other winter images often leave calm about the computer user, or there are 3D screen savers that are available and waiting for your download. Screen savers are full of choice online. There are many kinds of downloads available for your computer. If you’re not interested in the Christmas holidays there are other images for you to select from. Check the images which are preinstalled on your computer; many of the striking new images I’ve seen from the preinstall on Vista are really quite breathtaking. Surprisingly simple and yet they still do the trick. If there‘s nothing there for you, you’re always free to go online and search downloadable images. There are a number of free computer screen savers available for your desktop which can all be had with a few swift clicks. If you’ve an older model PC you may have problems locating screensavers that you’re able to download; or that your system is able to handle. Some of the graphics put up these days move in lockstep with the advances made in computers but if you’ve an older PC you may have compatibility issues and your downloads may not go through. But as long as we’re dealing with an OS from this century or greater, you shouldn’t have any problem locking and loading your computer with an awesome screen saver.
