If we’re talking about the future of audio, the future of computers, the future of technology, one thing is for sure; less is more. We’re tired of being weighted down by our individual digital devices; we want freedom of movement, as people and freedom to move around without always having to run back to our equipment. I remember, as a boy, all the hours spent talking on the phone…with a Cord! We didn’t even have a cordless in my adolescence! So to talk with the girls well into the night required wrapping the cord around and around and around and around. My dad used to get so mad that he’d have to untangle the cord on account of me; in turn, I’d be indignant about having to do it because he wouldn’t get the cordless!
It’s the same for our music. Cassettes and Walkman, that was good. But cassettes would sometime bug out and we’d have to play surgeon; opening up the wounded cassette and winding it back up around the dials so it would play once more. Then CD’s came and the Discman. That was better. But CD’s scratch and can skip. But the advent of digital players, with no device to input is brilliant, so we go to the MP3. MP3 music is had by loading it up onto your computer and loading it onto your player. No putting in discs or tapes or any other media, it’s all there already. With the brilliance of choice, you just pick and go! MP3 downloads are available all over the internet. If you’d like to download some song, clip, or information you can just point and click. Whatever software you’re using should scan the material before it’s uploaded so if there’s anything suspicious, it should reject it. You can also visit trusted third party sites to get your stuff from one place so that it’s always legitimate. If you’re interested in getting free MP3 music, you should look on artist websites or file sharing sites where things like that are done. There is the one very popular site that I’m no suggesting you go to (as I think it’s still illegal) but if you are looking for a freebie that would be a place to start. Also artists like to put up special, unheard of before tracks for real fans on their websites. For grab and go convenience, check out an MP3 player at an electronics retailer today!
