An iTune is a song available in the iTunes music store for play on your iPod player as well as through the iTunes desktop icon that will hold your entire iPod library on your computer. An iTune is playable much the same as collected songs on Windows Media Player from days past; the cool thing about an iTune is that once you buy a song, the iTunes store offers up a whole litany of ‘further listening’ selections for your consideration.
In order to download iTunes you need to have purchased an iPod or somehow have gotten the desktop icon that lets you into the iTunes store. You may just be able to dial it up from an online connection but I’m not sure. In either event, once you’ve gotten your iTunes icon and you’re hooked up to the service there’s all sorts of fun and interesting things available to you in addition to downloading stuff to you iPod. If you’re looking for free iTunes, there are a number of file sharing websites where those may be located. Though I’m never suggesting you do anything illegal, there are sites where this type of file sharing activity regularly takes place. There are free downloads available on iTunes including free clips of television shows, movies, and songs clips from upcoming or just released albums. Free downloads from iTunes is not only comprehensive but it also has for you songs, artists, records, TV shows, or movies you might not otherwise even notice; checking them out before spending your time and money on them is always a good idea. While iTunes is relatively inexpensive, compared with buying actual, physical CD’s, iTunes is not inexpensive. Also, in addition to downloading songs you may want to back them up on either an external hard drive or make sure to burn them onto blank CD’s before you switch computers. iTunes will not allow you to get the same song twice for free. iTunes gift cards are available for gift giving season from either an Apple store at your local mall or by going online and buying them. Just be sure you’re not being redirected to a third party site when you give your credit card info; that’s a recipe for disaster. iTunes for your PC is a great addition to any unit, whether a MAC or Windows OS, if you like music and you like media you should get an iPod soon!
